No. Resizing uses the Canvas API in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Downscaling is nearly lossless. Upscaling a small image cannot add detail that is not there.

Does it keep transparency?

Crop or fit?

Cropping fills the frame and keeps the image sharp, but cuts the edges — best for photos where the subject is central. Fitting keeps the whole image and adds padding, which is right for logos, screenshots and product shots that must not lose any part of the frame.

Why exact dimensions matter

Platforms re-encode anything that is not the expected size, which softens detail.
Automatic cropping usually cuts from the centre, taking faces or text with it.
Correctly sized uploads load faster and look sharper on high-density screens.
